Apple adds 30% fee on Patreon iOS subscriptions starting November.

Apple will charge an additional 30% commission on the iOS subscriptions of Patreon.

If Patreon does not adhere to Apple’s rules, they might be removed from the platform.

Apple’s guidelines state that alternative billing mechanisms should be taken out from iOS.

Because of Apple’s charge, new memberships for iOS will be significantly more expensive.

The old memberships would not be affected by the new guideline.

Creators have to switch to subscription billing so that they can use Apple’s system.

There is set to be a class action lawsuit against apple on its 30% fee structure.

Creators are also warning patrons against iOS purchases as they may be more expensive.
